Fleetwood Trust is seeking a social enterprise or charity, whose values align to theirs, who would be interested in operating the new Community Cafe in The Hub, the former Fleetwood Hospital building.
CEO of Fleetwood Trust, Charley Wilkinson says, "It would suit someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, who is socially minded, and puts people and community at the heart of their decision making. A creative programme of volunteering would also be an advantage.
From stakeholder discussions in 2019 and 2023 it was identified that the cafe should be an 'energetic and active place in the community ' and that time has come for us to make that vision a reality and bring to life the beating heart of our Hub.
The cafe is located on the ground floor inside the Hub and is currently being renovated and will complete the ground floor, which is currently occupied by a wide range of services and organisations including Regenda Homes, Fylde Coast Macmillan Information and Support Service, Blackpool and The Fylde College, Fleetwood Town Community Trust, Fleetwood Youth Hub, Counselling in the Community Charity and NHS Outpatients along with the ambulance service - all of whom bring a significant amount of daily footfall to The Hub.
The hours required for operation are 8am and 6pm 6 days a week including a Saturday.
We ask if you are interested in taking on this that you submit a proposal that includes:
your contact details and a description of you/organisation including the key people
your proposal for running a cafe in a community Hub
a short CV and relevant experience
your proposed staffing/volunteers and what equipment you have.
If there is more than one expression of interest then Fleetwood Trust will carry out a fair and open process to select a provider.
